// 01 — Overview

The Capra Vert Challenge ("the Challenge") is a charity elevation-tracking event organized by Capra Running ("the Organizer"). By registering for and participating in the Challenge, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

// 02 — Eligibility
  • The Challenge is open to participants of all ages and abilities. Participants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.
  • Registration through capra.run is required to participate.
  • Participants may join from any location. You do not need to be located in the Sea to Sky corridor to participate in the main challenge.
// 03 — Challenge Rules

Dates

The Challenge runs from May 1 to May 31, 2026. Only activities completed within this period will count.

Eligible Activities

Any human-powered activity that results in elevation gain is eligible. This includes but is not limited to: trail running, hiking, road cycling, mountain biking, ski touring, snowshoeing, stair climbing, and scrambling.

Motorized or mechanically assisted activities (e-bikes, gondolas, chairlifts, etc.) are not eligible.

Scoring

  • Participants log their own elevation gain (in metres) for each activity.
  • Only your top 10 days of elevation gain count toward your individual leaderboard score.
  • Multiple activities on the same day are combined into a single daily total.
  • All logged elevation (not just top 10 days) counts toward prize draw entries, at a rate of 1 entry per 100m.

Teams

  • Teams are optional and may consist of up to 4 members.
  • Each team member's individual elevation contributes to the team total.
  • A participant may only be a member of one team at a time.
// 04 — Sidequests
  • Sidequests are optional bonus objectives located in the Sea to Sky corridor.
  • Completing a sidequest earns 1 bonus prize draw entry.
  • Not all sidequests are suitable for all participants. Some involve serious mountain terrain, remote areas, and/or technical difficulty. Participants must assess their own fitness, experience, and preparedness before attempting any sidequest.
  • The Organizer may add additional sidequests during the Challenge period.
// 05 — Fair Play & Integrity
  • Participants are responsible for logging their activities honestly and accurately.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to review any logged activity and request verification (GPS data, photos, etc.).
  • Participants found to be falsifying or inflating their data may be disqualified and removed from the Challenge.
  • The Organizer's decisions regarding eligibility, scoring, and disqualification are final.
// 06 — Prizes

Prize Draws

Prize draw entries are earned at a rate of 1 entry per 100 metres of logged elevation, plus 1 bonus entry per completed sidequest. Draws will be conducted after the Challenge concludes.

Leaderboard Prizes

The top male and top female participants on the individual leaderboard will each receive a full HOKA gear package including shoes. Members of the winning team will each receive La Sportiva shoes.

General

  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to substitute prizes of equivalent value if specific items become unavailable.
  • Winners will be contacted via their registered email address.
// 07 — Safety & Assumption of Risk

The Challenge is a self-directed, unsupervised event. Participants are solely responsible for their own safety and well-being during all activities.

  • Participants should choose activities and objectives appropriate to their fitness, skill, and experience level.
  • Participants are responsible for checking weather, conditions, and any relevant advisories before heading out.
  • Participants should carry appropriate gear, supplies, and safety equipment for their chosen activities.
  • The Organizer does not provide supervision, guides, safety equipment, or emergency support.
  • The Organizer is not responsible for any injury, illness, loss, or damage incurred during participation in the Challenge.

By registering, you acknowledge that outdoor activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to: falls, wildlife encounters, adverse weather, avalanche, rockfall, and overexertion. You voluntarily assume all such risks.

// 08 — Charitable Donation

$20 from each registration is donated to Sea to Sky Hospice Society. Additionally, a community sponsor has pledged $1 for every 200m of elevation climbed across all participants, up to $5000. These donations are made by the Organizer and sponsor directly and are not tax-deductible for participants.

  • Your email address is used for login, communication, and prize notification purposes.
